1915 dated shellcase, very nice condition, The shell itself has a fully un-screwable brass fuse, and is in clean condition.

Contains some shrapnel balls.

The 18-pounder field gun was the standard field artillery piece of all Commonwealth armies during the First World War. The shell weighed about 8 kilograms (18.5 pounds) and had a maximum range of 8,500 metres. They could be filled with high explosive, shrapnel, poison gas, incendiary, or smoke.
