French Adrian Helmet Brass Plaque
Adrian helmet brass plaque made for the helmet visor ‘Soldat De La Grande Guerre'( soldier of the great war) all demobilised soldiers could keep their helmet and a decree was issued by the French government in Dec 1918 to award all soldiers the brass plaque whose units had participated in active combat.This also included families of the dead.A space was left at the top for his name , this one is uninscribed. There is also a very small split in the brass at the very top , age related.
