WW1 Relic German I.D. Tag
Relic German I.D. tag , found near the Somme Battlefield, and just shows what happens after 100 years underground, unreadable, These are normally stamped both front and rear with the soldiers details.
These tags would normally be broken in half upon the death of the soldier , half stayed with the body, half taken for identification.
