The sticker which is on the item is from someone else but it is wrong , as the ship was sank in March and the shellcase dates from May.

An original WW1 Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) 5.2cm brass shell case, dated May 1915, a scarce and rare to find attractive piece of early 20th-century naval ordnance. The sticker which is on the item is from someone else but it is wrong , as the ship was sank in March and the shellcase dates from May.

Manufactured for use with the German 5.2cm SK L/55 naval gun, these brass cartridge cases formed part of the fixed quick-firing ammunition used aboard Imperial German Navy torpedo boats and cruisers before and during the First World War. The 5.2cm SK L/55 entered service in the years immediately preceding WW1 and saw use throughout the conflict.
