A collection of paperwork for a Harry Rice , a 19 year old Private of the 3rd Suffolk Regiment, No 18500. Inc Army Form B , West Ham  , 30th April 1915. Order for the reception of a Dangerous Lunatic Soldier. Medical cert states the soldier had shot and killed a Corporal with no regret and 5 days later threatened to shoot another Corporal. It states this soldier is devoid of morals and hears voices, patient is dull and confused, careless of consequences and lakes and interest in his surroundings. So this soldier was consigned to D block of the Royal Victoria Hospital Netley. He enlisted on the 23rd of Sept 1914. No father, There are letters from various Asylum’s from Claybury -Woolwich and West Ham,. I have tried to find out any more about this man , all i can find is that he was still in D Block in 1922. I don’t know if this soldier suffered from SHELL SHOCK, possibly but one can only wonder. RARE collection of paperwork from the First war.
