Wooden Trench Cap 1916 (treen)
A lovely small trench cap ,size 3 in circumference by 2 in depth, made from beech, red band around centre and a black wooden knot where the cap badge is . Made by Ted Davey of the 15th Rifle Brigade in 1916. From the family. lid comes off to reveal a hoolow pot inside (see Photo’s) and is a snug fit. effectively this is Treen or trench art . Two photocopies of Ted Davey from the family come with this item.
