The Army Cadet Force (ACF) 7th Cadet Battalion Essex Regiment was the youth cadet unit associated with the Essex Regiment, a territorial army infantry unit that was originally formed in the London suburbs in 1860 and later merged into the 3rd East Anglian Regiment in 1958. The cadet battalion provided young people aged 12-18 with adventure, training, and an opportunity for friendship.
