RARE WW11 US Navy Officer’s Grey Hat with Black Chinstrap

The Grey hats were only worn during a short period of WW2. The correct chinstrap for the grey hat is black.  Sometimes you will see Grey hats with gold chinstraps , these have been put together. The grey cap or hat only had a black chinstrap. The men didn’t like the grey hats and uniforms, so they were only used during a limited period during the war.
