pair of 18 Pdr Trench Art Shellcases. Fully Decorated
A lovely pair of 18-pounder shellcases, engraved with the inscription Souvenir De La Guerre 1914–19.
One features a beautifully detailed scene of a soldier or woodsman holding a staff, accompanied by a dog at his feet and surrounded by foliage. The other shellcase depicts a similar figure, and is this time playing a curled horn while carrying a staff, and is also framed by intricate foliage.
Both pieces are in excellent condition. One of the shell cases is dated 1916, the other 1917.
