WWII Royal Engineers Side Cap – This side cap has a finely textured black wool upper, with black wool fold down panels held up via hook and eye closures on either side, the end straps secured at the front with two small, brass WWII Royal Engineers insignia buttons.

Description
WWII Royal Engineers Side Cap – This side cap has a finely textured black wool upper, with black wool fold down panels held up via hook and eye closures on either side, the end straps secured at the front with two small, brass WWII Royal Engineers insignia buttons. The top of the cap is trimmed in two rows of gold bullion wire piping along the two peak edges. There is a traditional 40.5 mm x 54 mm Ubique exploding bomb insignia sewn in place on the left side, fabricated from gold and copper bullion wire, black embroidery in the ribbon banner, all on a black wool base. The inside has a black felt sweatband, the dome lined in black rayon, probably a “MOSS BROS & Co Ltd / 20-21, King St., / COVENT GARDEN.”, no moth , very fine condition.
