December 18th 1943 USN aircraft PB4Y-1 Liberator Bu No 63934 of VB 110 crashed on Broken ground near Mossley, Peak District area.
These pieces were bought back by hill walker Paul Davis , of which remains are still visible to this day , these pieces were bought back in the 1980s, on a field excercise.
The aircraft which crashed was carrying out an anti U boat patrol over the bay of Biscay from their home station at Dunkeswell in Devon .
The two pieces are one large piece of engine and another from a wiring box. some paintwork remains on the electric piece.
