WW1 German M1898 Old Pattern Mauser Gewehr 98 Butcher’s Bayonet

The Bayonet M1898/05 (Butcher) was the successor of the M1898 long bayonet. It had a much stronger design but was still  long. This particular example has the  marks or stamps on the blade of V.C.SCHILLING–SUHL. And on the back of the blade it’s dated 1915

It does show marks of field usage and action due to the blade has a small ripple a quarter of the way up the blade.The guard and top of the handle are proof marked .

This is a rare, highly collectable piece.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 14.5 inches (36 .5 cm) and the overall length of the bayonet is 19.5/8 inches (49.8 cm).

It weighs 830 grams.

~ Condition ~

The blade is in good condition with rust free.

The safety catch button works fine.

The grips are fine and remain undamaged.
