Description
WW2, German Luftwaffe escape compass.
Double sided compass which shows O for Osten (East).
There is very little written information regarding these compasses. It is shown in the Escape & Devices book, by Phil Froom.
A very nice 100% original WW2 German Luftwaffe miniature compass, this is something which there is very little information out there about but 100% Early German issue, we have seen these in brass but this one is of alloy type material and of amazing quality with glass lenses each side, it is also slightly larger than the later type so presumably late 1930s to early WW2. The compass is very similar to the early British type and double sided, it has the correct compass bearings in German N,NO,O,SO,S,SW,W,NW. the compass is in pretty much mint condition . It is in excellent working order and guaranteed 100% WW2 German. It measures 20mm across and 6mm deep.
