Items of this nature were issued to American servicemen as part of military health and venereal disease prevention programmes during the Second World War, making surviving examples with their original contents highly collectable.

The colourful printed cardboard packet is a fascinating reminder of an often-overlooked aspect of military history. Intended to promote hygiene and protect the health of serving personnel, these packs were carried by thousands of U.S. servicemen, yet very few have survived complete.
