German Feldendarmerie Gorget (RELIC)
WW11 German Feldendarmerie Gorget, Relic piece dug up near Longvilly Road area near Bastogne 1944. Cased piece
This is a WWII German Feldgendarmerie gorget — a relic condition piece that was dug up near the Longvilly Road area close to Bastogne, a key location during the fighting in late 1944. It comes with a case.
The gorget spent many decades in the ground, so it shows genuine relic wear. Even so, much of the original insignia is still present, and the backing plate remains intact. Finds from the Ardennes are always evocative, and this one is no exception.
The item dates back to the Ardennes Offensive (also known by its German name, Unternehmen Wacht am Rhein), which was the last major German offensive on the Western Front in World War II. The battle took place from 16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945 and is more widely known today as the Battle of the Bulge.
This gorget is a tangible piece of that history — a German Feldgendarmerie (military police) relic from the Ardennes.
