WW1 Stokes 3in Mortar

WW1 British trench mortar designed by Sir Wilfred Stokes KBE that was issued to the British and US armies as well as the Portuguese Expeditionary Corps, during the later half of the First World War. The 3 inch trench mortar is a smooth-bore, muzzle-loading weapon for high angles of fire.

Designed in 1915

This is a found example so has pitting as can see from photo’s, but is very sound , both ends are fully un-screwable, obviously a used piece from the front line.
