A really good example of the 1917 type British trench Lantern. This is not a relic or barn find . The condition is well above average for such an item with just a few bits of rust pitting to body. This is a candle use item. This piece has no opening door , you access by opening the lid chimney by means of the front catch, which has the added safety of a hook and chain. Inside the opening is a enamelled plate for the heat, this is very slightly chipped to the edges. All glass panels are intact. In fact there is no visable damage to this piece. Carrying handle to the top . the piece is painted in a green and black finish , i’m afraid i don’t know how long ago it was painted .
