M42 German Helmet, Relic from Mackenheim,(Culmar Pocket)

A good solid M42 German helmet Recovered from Mackenheim in the Culmar Pocket .

The M42 is a solid piece with some small rust holes and a small area to the edge, there is no liner or internal pieces.

The Colmar Pocket was the area held in central Alsace, France by the German 19th Army from Nov 1944 to Feb 1945 against the US . 6th Army Group.

This is famous for the Americans as for the courageous stand during the Colmar Offensive by Audie Murphy.
